The traditional approach, which is based on the generation of high-frequency shock pulses and their analysis in the envelope spectrum, does not work. It also can't work if you look closely at how damage leads to vibrations in the first place.
Converter bearings fall exactly into this pattern. The large mass of the liquid material ensures high static and dynamic loads. Therefore, despite the high quality of the individual drive elements, damage can hardly be completely avoided. The analysis of damage to the converter bearings is still possible. The GfM uses a method based on path and rotation angle signals. Area wear on the bearing raceways as well as local damage can be reliably detected separately.
As a condition monitoring system, here comes the online condition monitoring system Peakanalyzer for use. Both the system itself and all sensors can be subsequently installed on existing machines.
